Black rustic kitchen in 1970s brick home

Finally I have a new Rustic inspired kitchen! All appliances are Smeg. Bench top is tree camphor laurel . Black Oliveri sink and it’s just fabulous. I did want a gooseneck tap, however they didn’t come in dual taps. We have filtered water and normal tap water in one tap, how cool is that? The rustic style cabinet handles are a nice touch, and definitely pop out the black cabinets. Attached are the before and after shots. Removal of wall , windows and installed French doors to “soon to be built “patio. #rusticdecor #rustickitchen #kitchendesign #kitchenrenovation #campourlaureltimber #timberbenchtop #blackkitchen

Re: Black rustic Kitchen in 1970’s brick home

Hello @annettespanski

Thank you so much for posting those photos of your amazing kitchen transformation. The black cabinets really stand out and because you have so much natural light entering your kitchen from the new french doors, it balances out so beautifully. The camphor laurel benchtop is so warm and inviting, would you be able to tell us the process and paint you used to seal the timber benchtop? The door handles are an excellent accent to the doors.

Please keep us updated with your progress, we look forward to seeing the start of your patio build.

Again, thank you for sharing such a wonderful kitchen renovation.

Eric

Looks fantastic @annettespanski , I love the contrast between the black cabinets and benchtops, they go together so well! Well done on the awesome build!

What an achievement @annettespanski! Your finishes are so on point and I absolutely LOVE your SMEG oven. Thank you for sharing your before and after photos, they definitely tell a story. Was it difficult to remove and fill where the window was?

I look forward to seeing your back patio's transformation.

Re: Black rustic kitchen in 1970’s brick home

Hi Katie

Thanks for the text and kind words

No the window was the easy part . The hardest part were cabinets!  They had to be made “special order” as black is not a popular cabinet colour. It was a long 6 month wait!!! Never again.
Still have the inside of pantry to finish and put two down light above sink. 👍👏🙏

Looks amazing well done.

We are doing our refurb and it’s painful pulling it into this century so this gives us focus.
