How to split water supply for sink tap to another outlet?

I want to split the cold water supply for my kitchen sink/tap so that i can still use the sink normally but I can also have another supply going to my water cooler. What do you recommend the best splitter ill be and what is the standard thread size? I have seen 1/2, 15mm.

Re: Splitting water suply for sink tap to another outlet.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Chris410. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about splitting a water supply.

Typically a plumber would change the mini cistern cock under the sink for one with two outlets, such as the Kinetic 15 x 15mm Chrome Plated Double Mini Cistern Cock. They normally use 15mm, which is also referred to as half inch.

That would allow you to connect the tap and have another outlet available for your water cooler.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
