In need of a new side table I decided to get creative using some porta timber and terrazzo. For this project I used a terrazzo outdoor table from bunnings and some porta timber 18mm fly bead dowels. To create the base I used 2x round chopping boards from kmart and connected them using 3x pine to struts (cut to 600mm). I then glued the porta timber around the edge of the base using gorilla glue.
I absolutely love it @sammilne! Your creativity is truly inspiring. I want to make one of these now too.
Did you re-purpose the top from a Home Bazar 53 x 50cm Terrazzo Round Steel Side Table? Using the circular chopping boards was also quite ingenious, and I'm sure, cut down on construction time.
A huge welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community as well. With skills like these, I'm sure you'll fit right in with all our other amazingly talented members.
I'll be looking forward to your next project. Many thanks for sharing.
