I have purchased a hammock chair but only have the ceiling under the eaves on which to hang it.
Is there a hook that can hold a weight load of around 200kg and be mounted in a ceiling please?
Thank you
Hi @Sonia_B,
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. We're pleased to have you join us.
200kg is a lot of extra weight to hang from your ceiling. There is also the additional force of a swinging object. Rather than getting a builder or engineer in to come up with a safe way of tethering, I would suggest purchasing a hammock frame.
Other community members might have additional advice.
We look forward to reading more about other projects and plans around your house and garden.

Hi @Sonia_B,
Some sound advice from @Jason there. For a swing of that weight capacity, you'd be looking at two Swing Slide Climb Swing Hooks bolted through timber supports that have been installed for the purpose of hanging the swing. This would involve having a tradesperson inspect the roofing timbers and assessing whether adjustments can be made in order to support the swing. It really needs to be connected to a structural weight-bearing timber that is adequate to support the weight. I am unaware of any hooks that could be simply mounted on your existing ceiling.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
