How to lay synthetic turf over soil?

I am planning to lay turf in my backyard and have found some really useful questions and answers here. The laying turf video is amazing, but I was wondering if there is a video showing how to prep the area, before laying?

Or if someone would be kind enough to explain step by step process.

Many thanks

Re: How to lay synthetic turf over soil?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Sofia26. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about preparing ground for synthetic turf.

I've added a video below that goes over the preparation in more detail.

You'll want to remove all debris and lower the soil height by 100mm from your desired finished level. You can then use a rake to flatten the surface. Next, add 60-70mm of roadbase over the area and level with a rake, ensuring it slopes away from your house or paved areas. Water this roadbase and compact the area. Optionally, you can then add 20mm of sand over the roadbase.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
