how do you collect grey water for use in toilet
Hello @bernadine
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about how to collect grey water.
Please note that each state has its own rules and regulations regarding grey water, make sure to check before you begin. A quick way to gather grey water from your washing machine for example is to divert the exit hose into large plastic barrels. However, it will be necessary to engage a plumber to plumb the barrels to your toilet cistern.
If you are planning on using the water in your garden, please note that detergents can contain phosphorus and salts that can harm some plants and affect the quality of the soil or increase the soil's pH (make the soil more alkaline). Soil with an alkaline pH (pH greater than 7) can lead to nutrients becoming unavailable to plants, particularly iron.
