How to repair timber floorboard damage from dog?

Hi Team,

Was hoping to get some tips on how I could fix this damaged floorboard (picture attached - damage from my dog).

Looking for some guidance on what I could get from Bunnings to help fix this up a little.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

Re: How to repair timber floorboard damage from dog?

Hi @Garden_Rookie,

Sorry about the slow reply and about the damage to your floor. I take it these are solid timber floorboards?

As this is significant damage, unfortunately there won't be any great solution except sanding and polishing the whole floor. But you might like to try the suggestions for smaller scratches in the Best Advice article How do you fix scratches on a timber floor?

Let me see if our resident Bunnings D.I.Y. experts have anything to add.

Thanks,

Jason

Re: Fixing Floorboard - Damage from Dog

Hello @Garden_Rookie

If you're not ready to sand down your flooring just yet, I suggest using Waxstix to cover up the damage. It won't totally hide the damage, but it will reduce its visibility. The wax will slowly wear away, so you'll need to reapply it every now and then.

If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Eric
