What tile adhesive to use behind my woodburner?

What tile adhesive to use behind my woodburner?

I am going to tile the corner behind my wood burning heater. What adhesive should I use? It’s a ceramic subway tile onto painted white set.

FYI, burner has already been moved away from the wall and the wallpaper has obviously been removed since this picture…..

The original installer took the wrong path of least resistance and we had to get it redone……

Re: What tile adhesive should i use on the wall behind my woodburner?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @juliee1. It's fantastic to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about tile adhesives.

Provided your fireplace is now set back from the wall as per the installation requirements and code, then Davco 20kg SMP Evo Tile Adhesive can be used. Since it's a painted surface we'd need to Special Order you some Davco Ultrabond. If you were willing to sand back the paint to reveal the white set plaster, you could use Davco 1L PrimeX Surface Primer instead.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
