Stairway refresh: A splash of colour

Hello all, 

Our stairway did not match the rest of the house colour scheme so we decided to refresh it. Originally, I wanted to strip off the white and stain it brown but that proved to be time consuming and the stain didn't turn out well- So we decided to just paint it. The result turned out good. Next stage hopefully- is to strip the carpet off.

Wow! That made the world of difference, @stelz. I love the contrast between the darker balustrade and the lighter grey architrave, surrounds and doors. Lovely work and finish. I'm sure you are very happy with the results.

What are your plans for the carpet, renewing, or are there timber floorboard underneath?
