I was amazed at how a few relatively small things made a huge difference to my laundry. In the past, I’d had half of one wall removed (by licensed professionals) because it was asbestos and the plumber needed it gone. The person who redid the area with plasterboard did a pretty rough job, the work the plumber did left holes in the wall, the whole room was painted green (60s house) and the floor is literally held together with duct tape. It was a little depressing. My whole family pitched in - my brother redid the plastering and covered the hole with a tile splashback, I did the silicone sealing and painted the door, and my mother painted the walls and ceiling. The floor still needs replacing, but it’s the last thing needing done. I thought I’d share to show a little goes a long way!
