How to restore tomato garden stakes?

I have many tomato stakes that, over the past 10 years, have rotted or broken off but which are still long enough to be usable.  I’d like to think Bunnings had a giant pencil-sharpener for stakes.  What’s the best method of restoring the point on these tomato stakes ?  Perhaps I just need to sit on the front veranda like a Good Ol’ Boy and whittle away.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fabulous to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about your tomato garden stakes.

The traditionalist in me is thinking of doing it the traditional way and using a Stanley FatMax Premium Pocket Knife to whittle the stakes in the yard. But to expedite the process, I suggest using a Trojan 200mm Dovetail Saw as it gives you precise control of the angle of the cut. 

Please keep in mind that if the stake is too brittle, it's best to get a new one rather than recycle it.
