How to retract bolt on deadbolt latch?

bought one of these Lemaar deadbolts https://www.bunnings.com.au/lemaar-white-double-cylinder-deadbolt_p0336096

but I can't for the life of me make the bolt retract all the way in - C on the instructions below.

I followed the (crap) instructions , but the most it will go still has 1cm sticking out as pictured

Anyone have better instructions , or even better a video on how to retract the bolt?

my backset is 60mm

Hi @filthy,

In step A. you need to use a flat-head screwdriver to turn the cross-section which retracts the latchbolt back fully before moving on to the other steps. The cross-section operates the latch crank. You'll then be able to adjust the setback.

If when you turn the cross-section the latchbolt doesn't retract fully you might have a faulty unit on your hands and we'd be happy to swap it over.

tried that , it still won't retract fully.

Can Bunnings swap it if I don't have the receipt?

If you've only purchased this part recently the customer service team should still be able to track down your docket at the store. I'm passing by my store tomorrow and will speak to the hardware specialist. Let me double-check the retraction step for you. As soon as I have more information, I'll post it here as soon as I can.

It is a bit tricky as the instruction sheet does not tell you that it is the interior mechanism that slides out not the outer shell. I've placed a video link below that shows how the latch is extended to 70mm. If you still have trouble with the unit, please let us know.
