How to change from an electric stove to a gas stove?

Hi everyone,

we just bought a 1970 house and I want to change the electric stove top to dual fuel freestanding stove with oven, Is that possible? Has anyone done this? If yes, what is the first thing you did? Do we need a professional to check whether its possible?

You definitely have the right step in mind, I suggest contacting a gas fitter and finding out if you have gas in your street or if you'll need to use bottles. You can also ask the gas fitter for a quote for the installation of the gas pipe into your proposed location. Please keep in mind that if you decide to remove the old electric top any cabinet below it will also need to be removed and that there must be enough space for the freestanding gas cooker. Please make sure you have the measurements of the free-standing cooker so that you can be sure that it will fit into the proposed space.
