1/4 turn taps sit proud of the wall

Question

I have installed a 1/4 turn tap but it sits about 20mm proud of the tiles.

The assembly does not seem to have any margin for adjustments to shorten.

Obviously I don't want the expense of a plumber breaking tiles to resess the internal pipework a further 20mm.

Are there shorter assemblies or flang/shroud extenders. Or some other means to fix this issue.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fantastic to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about covering the gap on your wall taps.

I suggest having a quick look at this discussion - How to add a flange to cover a proud bath spout? by @Barracuda. In the discussion, I suggested using either a Fix-A-Tap trouble dome or a Holman 50mm PVC DWV Push On Cap. The advantage of using a PVC push on cap is that you can paint spray it to the colour that you like and mimic a chrome finish.

The trouble dome needs to be ordered from the special orders desk. I've placed an image below for reference.
