How do I fix this pipe?

Hi there,

I am currently renting and looking for the cheapest way to fix this pipe as we are moving out in a few weeks and this was damaged by one of our gardening tools!

Worth mentioning I am a complete novice to DIY, thank you so much for your help. I have found so much helpful stuff on here already!

As you can see in the photo, there is a giant gap in the pipe.

The correct way to repair this pipe would be to cut out the corner section and replace it with a new Holman 90mm 90° Female And Female PVC Stormwater Elbow, two Holman 90mm PVC Stormwater Slip Couplings and two short sections of Holman 90mm x 1m Stormwater Pipe. All joints require PVC solvent. There's not enough left of the vertical pipe before the 90-degree bend to perform a repair here, so the whole corner must be replaced. I've created the renders below to give you a better idea of what needs to be done. The last image shows an alternative method that I'd suggest would be potentially employed by some professionals. Even though there is not enough pipe left to repair above the corner, the quick fix that might work is to cut the pipe there and install a slip joint over the damaged portion. Not an ideal repair, but it could work.

Be advised that a licensed drainage specialist is required in many areas to perform this work. If you do attempt this repair yourself, then appropriate PPE must be worn, including chemical protectant gloves, safety goggles, rubber boots, and a long-sleeve shirt and pants. The solvent needs to be used in a well-ventilated area.

No other cheap fixes for this type of damage would be considered a suitable repair. Functionally, BOSTON 3m White Silicone Self-Fusing Tape would likely seal the hole and allow proper damage. However, the patching job is not going to be unnoticeable.
