Hi Everyone,
I'm considering undertaking a tiling project for one wall in my bathroom. I have no prior experience in tiling, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could respond or share your own experiences regarding a few questions I have.
I have attached an image of the wall in my bathroom where I intend to do the tiling.
-
Estimating the number of tiles needed: According to my calculations, I believe I will require approximately 50 sheets of the following tiles to cover the entire wall. Could you confirm if my estimation is accurate? https://www.bunnings.com.au/decor8-tiles-284-x-324-x-6mm-white-matt-hexagon-ceramic-mosaic-tile_p0033256
-
Waterproofing on the plasterboard wall: Is it necessary to apply waterproofing to the plasterboard wall before tiling? If so, I would greatly appreciate recommendations for suitable products and steps to follow for waterproofing the plasterboard. (I have watched some videos, but they mostly cover shower and toilet areas.)
-
Compatibility of tile adhesive with waterproofed wall: Will the below tile adhesive work effectively if I apply waterproofing to the wall? https://www.bunnings.com.au/davco-20kg-ultraflex-ceramic-tile-adhesive_p6656384
-
Tile cutter recommendations: Could you please advise me on the type of tile cutter I should use to cut the tiles?
-
Usage of silicone on the edges: Is it necessary to use silicone on the edges of the tiles?
If there's anything important that I've missed or any other advice you believe I should be aware of before starting the project, please share it with me.
