Part of our kitchen renovation involved extended a portion of it to make space for the dishwasher.
After removing the cabinets we realised there were no tiles underneath and needed to patch the area. Here is how we did it.
Steps
Step 1

I scrapped off any tile glue and grout to make sure the surface was clean and level.
I also removed some of the shorter vinyl flooring boards to ensure the new ones blended in well.
Step 2

I then cut pieces off the 7mm FCS to fit the section of flooring. I glued these down using construction adhesive.
Thankfully this was about the same depth as the tiles, before laying the vinyl flooring.
Step 3

I then applied the jointing compound and let it dry accordingly.
Step 4

I then applied for primer to the boards and tiles in preparation for laying the vinyl planks.
Step 5

Then I cut and glued down the self adhesive planks as per instructions.
Step 6

I then pressed down the vinyl flooring to ensure they had bonded and gave the area a good clean.
