How to fit a microwave in pantry cabinet?

Hi,

We are building a granny flat later this year so I am working with a small space for the kitchen. I am trying to work out a way of incorporating the microwave in a 600mm pantry cabinet. I can just put it on the fixed shelf and have a power point installed behind the pantry door, but has anyone managed to do something like the oven tower but with just pantry drawers/cupboards and the microwave box?

I have seen pictures of this online and was wondering if the talented people in the Bunnings workshop community had attempted this before with Kaboodle. Please see picture of what I am referring to.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @CarissaK. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about fitting a microwave in cabinetry.

There are some options you can explore. Below I've constructed a 600mm unit with drawers at the bottom, a microwave box and cabinets above. You can see the standard oven cabinet I've placed to the right. I've also included the product list for it.

Alternatively, if you already had a 600mm pantry, you could fit it out with a microwave box, install drawers at the bottom, and doors at the top. There might be some custom work involved to get this right.

Thanks for those suggestions, gives me something to work with.

With the Multipurpose plain panels, can they be CTM to any height or is there a limit?

And are these the same as pantry end panels that have finish on both sides not just the edge? Just trying to work out if I need these up against walls or they can be on and end.

Hello @CarissaK

The multipurpose panel can be custom ordered at the special orders desk. You'll need to consult with the In-Store Kitchen Specialist so that the panel will be ordered correctly. There is a limit as to how big you can get the multipurpose panel. The panel is sealed on all sides so make sure to double check your sizes when ordering.

Please note that the In-Store Kitchen Specialist can design this tower for you. This would save you from having to build it from scratch. That is of course on the condition that you are building a new kitchen. But if you are repurposing an existing pantry, it will take a bit of planning.
