How to fix my leaky tap?

Question

Have removed the cap, tap and tap bonnet but I'm not sure what to do next. The spindle only has 4 very small ridges at the top of the black (plastic?) part near the wall. Do I need a special tool or will my multi grips do it? I'm scared to try without advice because i don't want to break it.

Not a handy man, or woman, but grateful in advance 🙂

UPDATE:

I needed a tap spanner, and together, my son and I replaced he washer, put it all back together and fixed the leak!!! Now we ave the sweet sound of no drips 🙂  Thank you.

Please note that plumbing work needs to be completed by a licensed professional for safety and compliance.

The silicone prevents any water that might seep behind the cover flange from entering your wall. Refilling the area would be a good idea, so pick up some silicone next time you're in-store.

It sounds like you're trying to resolve the leak, have a read through this helpful guide: How to replace a tap washer. You've already completed the most difficult part; removing the stubborn conical cover flange.
