I bought this bedside drawers from a local Opportunity Shop, I have had a look at at a lot of up cycled furniture on the Bunnings Workshop and Websites, so I decided to up cycle this one, it was already in good condition, it just needed sanding, staining and painting.
I sanded the top right back to bare wood., then stained 4 coats of Cabots water based cedar, then sealed to stain with a water based satin clear coat, the rest of the unit was sanded and painted in satin black using a 100mm x 4mm nap roller, (no brush marks, I also changed the drawer knob's to brass ones.
Steps
Step 1
Check unit for wear , then sand and prepare for staining and painting.
Mask off the area in between the staining area and painted area.
Paint body and drawers first (apply 3 coats light sanding in between coats).

Step 2
Once all painting is done, stain (4 coats to get the colour required) and clear coat the top of the unit.(2 coats, light sand in between coats).
When dry install new knobs.
Job done.
