Timber offcuts were used to build a toy car garage.

The project
I built a toy garage for my grandson, using Australian hardwood offcuts. The pieces that I used would have been thrown out as they come with the decking boards sold at Bunnings. The mix hardwoods are mostly Spotted Gum.
First I did a trial assembly to see how it was coming together. It looked pretty good. I was yet to make the ramp that goes up and the ramp that comes down from the top parking area. I also planned to sand and paint the entire garage and make it look good.

A progress shot of the build.

Once I made all of the cuts and I did a "dry assembly" and then primed all of the timber where I wouldn't be applying glue. The Zinsser Bullseye 1-2-3 is an amazing primer and I am seriously impressed with its quick drying and easy clean up. The paint team at West Gosford Bunnings know their paint.
The build was looking good. It was now time to glue, do some more sanding and more painting.

It’s done and delivered. My grandson walked right past the battery powered jeep and played with the garage. I was very happy.
There are a number of issues with the finish, but overall I’m pretty happy with how Mav’s Garage turned out. The main thing is that my grandson enjoys the garage. I can’t wait for the next project.
