A comprehensive kitchen renovation featuring black cabinetry, timber benchtop, new appliances, white subway tiles and black sink.

The project
Finally I have a new rustic-inspired kitchen. All appliances are Smeg. The timber benchtop is made from camphor laurel. We've got a new black Oliveri sink and it’s just fabulous.
I did want a gooseneck tap, however they didn’t come in dual taps. We have filtered water and normal tap water in one tap; how cool is that? The rustic style cabinet handles are a nice touch, and definitely pop out the black cabinets.
We took out and bricked the right window and added vintage French Doors.

Here is the original right side with pantry doors.

This is the new kitchen without cabinet handles.

Now with the added cabinet handles. We still need to add two downlights over the black Oliveri sink.

The right side of the kitchen.

The hardest part were cabinets. They had to be made “special order” as black is not a popular cabinet colour. It was a long six-month wait.
