I tried something new, Laser engraving on a ceramic tile from Bunnings.
I am using a K40 Co2 laser but I have heard it all so works with a diode laser.
To achieve this I made a mix 3:1 methylated spirits and titanium dioxide and put it in a spray bottle.
All I did was spray a few coats onto the tile let it dry and then using the setting on my laser
Power 70% speed 170mm/s and 2 passes I
found this works on my laser, this would very on different lasers.
The titanium dioxide is just sitting on the tile after it dry's and after the engraving it just washes off.
Titanium dioxide is used in makeup and food.
The paten is engraved into the tile and will not rub off ...
Then I also just glued felt on the back so it would not scratch tables.
I used this making coasters but you could also use this on wall tile to make it personalised.
