Have you tried a scourer? Hopefully, the staining is in the topmost layer, and with a slight amount of abrasion, it could shift it. Don't use a scourer that is too rough, or it could scratch the sink. This Bar Keepers Friend 595g Cleanser & Polish Powder works quite well for removing various stains from metals.
