How to paint metal interior door frames?

I am new to Western Australia and in my house all the door frames are metal. Should I paint with oil based paint or water base paint.

I suggest using the White Knight Rust Guard system (water-based) for your metal frames. It is designed to go on steel and can be tinted in a variety of colours.
