Installed updated 2x 31L side mounted bin. However it catches just as it connects to the soft close mechanism and I have to give it an extra nudge to close the door. Is there an easy fix so it closes correctly.

It may be something as simple as an overtightened screw pulling something out of alignment.
If you had some photos it might help the members identify the issue.

It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about cupboard bin installation.It sounds like @JacobZ95 is on the money, and there is probably an alignment issue. Is the door slightly contacting the bench, preventing it from closing by itself? Take a look and see if any areas are making contact just before it closes.
