How to rust-proof garden ornaments?

Hey there,

I live just one street away from the beach, so I’m wondering how can I rust proof my new garden ornament. The gecko will be attached to the fence in the garden. It’s made of metal and painted on one side. Is there a product I can spray onto the gecko, that will prevent rust and keep the gecko paintwork looking good? Maybe a clear varnish of some sort, I don’t really know.

Thanks for sharing your question about your garden ornaments. I suggest using Rust-Oleum 340g Gloss Clear Stops Rust Custom Spray 5 In 1 Spray Paint. It provides a durable, protective coating and ultimate rust prevention for a long lasting finish and excellent resistance to abrasion, fading, chipping and dulling.

My best advice is to spray both front and back sections of the garden ornament and perhaps do a touch up of the clear coat once a year for superior protection.
