17 and I have no experience with this stuff but I thought I’d give it a go. My bedroom is “Hamptons” beach inspired and wanted an accent chair and this caught my attention. How’d I do? Before
After

Thank you @Jason
Great job. It looks like you spent sometime on it. What is your next project?
It took me about 5 days. And I plan to make a new wardrobe from an old one I found in the shed, I’ll start this week sometime.
Hi Chad
Its great to see someone of your age taking on projects like these. Its a lot of hard work and a great deal of satifaction at the end.
This was my first rebuild/restoration I did sometime ago which had taken me 4 months to complete.
This is what it looked like when I got itThe doors took the most about of time, all the frame work had to be cut and fitted followed by the glassFinished job
You did an amazing job, maybe one day I will create something which involves that amount of skill.
Chad
If we put brick walls in front of us we will never climb over them. Skill is something we develop over time I have 50 years on you and still I am learning. The best way to learn is do it and learn from your mistakes
Definitely, I always tell myself that I can only learn from mistakes and not to let them discourage me.
Looks fantastic! I'm looking at doing a makeover on my dining table. Wanting to change from a mahogany colour to white. What paint did you use please? Did you also wax or varnish this? Thank you for your help
The Hampton Chair Looks fantastic! I'm looking at doing a makeover on my dining table. Wanting to change from a mahogany colour to white. What paint do you suggest to use please? Would you suggest to also wax or varnish this? & what would be best as Dining Table. Thank you for your help
Hi @Shaz68,
Welcome to Workshop. As it's been a while since this project was posted, let me tag @ChadBaker so he is alerted to your question about the chair restoration. Hopefully he'll be able to get back to you soon.
We're really pleased you have joined the community and look forward to seeing how your dining table makeover progresses. Perhaps you could hit the Start a discussion button and share some photos of the table and what you have planned?
@Shaz68 Hey there, well the paint I used for the chair was a glossy enamel. I think the dining table will look fabulous once completed, I look forward to seeing it!
Great job for your first go Chad! Keep restoring 🙂
