Will removing concrete apron damage Hebel walls?

Hi, 

Just looking for some advice. We just got the concrete done (driveway and apron) around our new place but the concreter messed up the work. We wanted to have exposed aggregate all around the house but the concreter has mistakenly done exposed aggregate only at the driveway and for the rest of the house, he did plain concrete. We are considering to remove the plain concrete but are concerned that it will damage or crack the hebel walls. Would the hebel walls crack easily with the removal? Is it a very risky move to proceed with the concrete removal?

Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you join us.

It is entirely possible that cosmetic damage could occur in the process of taking out a pathway, however major structural damage can quite easily be avoided.

The path was likely attached to the house's foundation slab using rebar dowels. Assuming the people carrying out the demolition ensure these dowels are cut before breaking and removing the pathway, there should be no issue with cracking in the walls as they are completely separate masses when these dowels are removed from the equation.

It should be noted that there are always risks involved in demolition work around things that want to be kept. I would suggest you contact a reputable demolitions contractor in your area to carry out the work and speak with them about your concerns before the commencement of work.
