First time poster. I am seeking advice as to what is the best way to attach a timber post to a Timber retaining wall for building a fence on top of it. Any ideas or hints will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

I suggest having a quick look at this discussion - How to install a fence on a retaining wall? by @bengroll. In the post we explored some possible configurations to build a fence. In order to give our members a better idea of your retaining walls configuration, would it be possible for you to post a few photos? We can then make recommendations on how to proceed.
The age and condition of your retaining wall will play a part in what we can recommend. It's height and the way it's been constructed will tell us if it can hold onto any extra weight. Once we see the pictures of your retaining wall, we'll be able to make suggestions on how you can add to it. Can you also please tell us, how tall will the extension fence be?
