We decided to get chickens so I built a custom coop. After doing some research I decided to build it off the ground for safety from foxes and ease of cleaning. Simply put the wheel burrow at the coop door and sweep the contents off the vinyl floor straight into the wheel burrow, no need to climb in. There is also easy access to the nesting box along the side for egg collection. An automated door from the coop to the run opens and closes during set times. When we are home during the day the chickens free range around the backyard. If we aren't home and want to keep them safe they can stay in the run.

Thank you very much for sharing the assembly steps and materials of your Chicken coop. You've certainly thought this through looking at the design you've made. A dedicated spot for egg laying and easy access for egg collection.

Having that large access door for cleaning is very clever, and I agree that being able to bring a wheelbarrow to the cage itself makes it so much more convenient.
