What are timber benchtop colours after oiling?

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has any pictures of Timber benchtops from Bunnings after oiling them and maybe what oil you used?

Specifically if anyone has used the Ash Hardwood Panel and what it looks like. We like this one as it comes in the 900 which will be great for our kitchen bench.

Or if you have any images of the Tasmanian Oak or any other light Hardwood Timber from Bunnings that would be great.

I'm looking to build my bench top but I want a lighter timber as my house and floors are very dark.

We have tested the Accacia and the Merbau as shown below. We used a Tung Oil as we want to use it in our kitchen.

You might like to check out the ASH hardwood panels website, as they have images of their products with a variety of coatings on them. Below I've added an image of an ash benchtop below. Depending on your oil brand, you'll see a honey-coloured glow produced. Typically, any lighter-coloured hardwood will have a similar result. It will go slightly darker but then have a warm glow due to the colour of the oil.
