When we moved in our bathroom was bland and simply not functional. Water spilled out onto the wooden floors and was causing damage. The sink splashed over onto the floor every time you turned on the faucet and everything was so white and sterile!
We transformed the space into a vibrant and fun space the whole family loves for a tiny budget (under $1000).
- added a bathtub into the existing shower cavity and created a feature tub-wall using hardy groove paneling.
- added warmth using merbeau accents on the benches and shelving.
- added a new modern egg shaped sink and fun splash back tile.
- added a fun navy blue pop to cabinets using Dulux renovator range and new gold hardware.
we love this space and hope you to too!
Steps
Step 1

Before - this space was not only a clinical level of white, it also had a number of functional faults including a sink and faucet that spilled over and caused damage to the cabinets and a shower screen with no protection for the wooden floor surrounds - creating water damage to the existing flooring.
Step 2

After! To address the sink issue we changed out the existing damaged benchtops for a warm merbeau and added a golden touch through splashback tiling and hardware. We also used Dulux renovator range in diplomatic blue to give the cupboards a new lease on life!
Step 3

After! To address the shower issue and make this space more family friendly we decided to remove the existing shower glass and incorporate a deep soaking tub. This is a favourite for all family members! The seventies inspired blue shower curtain adds a pop of Colour and prevents any splashing. the bath surrounds have been built to match in with the colonial style of the house and give a traditional nod to this otherwise modern space.
