How to repair gaps in eaves?

Hello, recently moved into this somewhat neglected house, I’m in the process of making repairs to the front exterior in preparation for paint. I have come across these gaps near the front door and I am wondering the best way to repair them. Can I use some wood screws to rejoin the separated pieces and fill with no more gaps to seal? Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about repairing the gaps in your eaves. 

It appears that the panel has lifted from the frame of the house. Generally speaking, it would be best to remove the timber trim cover first and reattaching the panel back to the frame of the house using screws. Once you've reattached the panel, you'll see that the gap will be greatly reduced.

You can then fill the remaining thin gap with Selleys 430g White No More Gaps Exterior Gap Filler.
