How to identify lawn weed?

Could you please help me identify this weed? 

Location: Melbourne 

Are these crab grass or winter grass?

Hi @Neo19,

It could be either, but removal can be achieved similarly. Since this is a gravelled area and not a lawn, I'd recommend applying a non-selective weed killer, which will knock it off quickly. Remember to follow all safety precautions on the packaging.

For prevention, I suggest spraying the area with a path weeder periodically. This sticks around in the soil and prevents weeds from appearing for several months.
