What plants would look great at my entrance?

This is my home entrance and I’m having some trouble thinking of what plants can really make this area look fuller and make it pop. However relatively low maintenance. I was thinking a nice combination of flowers and shrub(s)? This area gets sunlight for most of the day. Would have to be compatible with Melbourne soil/weather. 

Garden experts please help me out!

I think a single focal tree surrounded by lower planting would look great. A weeping cherry would be sensational.

Alternatively, you could use a Lilly Pilly, which has dense foliage and can be easily shaped to suit your space. For added elegance, Gardenias offer fragrant white flowers and glossy leaves, making them a great choice. Dwarf Agapanthus can also be an excellent addition, with its beautiful blue or white blooms and minimal care requirements.

To complement these shrubs, consider adding flowering plants such as Lavender, which brings a pop of purple and a pleasant fragrance, all while being drought-tolerant. Dianthus can add vibrant colours with minimal upkeep, while Kangaroo Paw, another Australian native, provides unique and striking flowers. For a hardy and colourful option, Geraniums are perfect for handling Melbourne's varied weather. 

By layering taller shrubs at the back and placing flowering plants in front or alongside them, you can create a visually appealing and inviting entrance that stands out with minimal effort.
