How to fix lifting vinyl wrap on cabinet doors?

I am doing a makeover on my bathroom vanity and there is some lifting of the vinyl wrapping, looking for recommendations on the best glue to use to stick it back down before it tears. Not sure if the fact that it is a bathroom vanity and in wet area will affect which glue to use.

Thanks for sharing your question about repairing your lifting vinyl wrap. I propose using Sika 500ml Clear 105 Contact Fix Premium Contact Adhesive on the lifting vinyl. I suggest making sure that the damaged area is totally dry and is still in good condition before you apply the adhesive. If it feels damp, do not apply the adhesive, use your hair dryer to accelerate the drying process or leave the door out in the sun to dry naturally.

There was another post in the last few days about someone with a similar issue. If its only regluing the lifting vinal then I would definently go with @EricL 's suggestion.

Has the vinal cracked or perished anywhere else? And is there any chance of a photo or two of the vanity?

Thought I would give an update to anyone who has the same issue:

After looking into the Sika Clear Contact, it required the two edges to be separated for a short time before joining in order to form a good bond, this was not an option when the vinyl was only slightly lifting and the gaps very small. So instead, I used Tarzan Grip - General Purpose Gel which is water resistant and suitable for vinyl - I applied it with a cotton bud and toothpick due to the small openings and then used painters' tape to keep both edges together for 12 hours - worked a treat - so easy and any excess was easily wiped away .. another bonus was that it was less than $5 a tube!

For our readers, could you confirm if it was this Tarzan's Grip General Purpose Adhesive that you used?

From your description, I am fairly confident that it is, but it would be great to be able to point people to the exact product you've used.

This is definitely NOT the correct product. I used it to glue the edges on my vinyl doors and the glue has melted the vinyl… it’s a new door for me now! Hope this helps someone else to use the correct product

Hello @Chrissygirl

I'm sorry to hear that the vinyl strip has deteriorated. I suggest measuring your door and see if any of the Kaboodle kitchen doors at the store are compatible in size. One other option is to remove all of the vinyl cover and sand the surface then paint it to your preferred colour.
