How to hide down pipe?

I have a downpipe running down at the front of the house. I'd like to cover this with some screening that blends in with the rest of the house.

Do you have any products that can blend in with the rest of the house ?

Preciously this downpipe was hidden by a brick wall however this had to be knocked down as it was pulling on the wall behing it. The wall is now repaired but I need to hide the downpipe.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about hiding your down pipe.

A quick way to hide it is to place a SpecRite 1800 x 600mm Pre-Oiled Merbau Garden Fence Panel or building a similar structure in front of the down pipe. Another way to do it is to install a Matrix 2410 x 600mm Charcoal Tropical Fence Extension. This will cover and decorate that side of the brick wall and hide the down pipe at the same time. It will be necessary to create a timber frame for the Matrix panel so that it stands up vertically.

If you are really feeling creative, you can cover the area with plywood and painting it in the same pattern as the brick wall, rendering the downpipe invisible.

That is an interesting problem....

I would be tempted to move the downpipe to the corner but that will entail new joing the storwater pipes up and also making sure the gutters can carry the quantity of water at that point.

Option two would be along the lines @EricL has mentioned

I would frame up a square based rectangular box with the downpipe inside it. You could screen the box with whatever material you liked or even mesh to allow a vine to grow up and around it all. I would paint the pipe the same colur as your house and with the pipe boxed in it will give mechanical protection as well as phyical support.

Depending on how rough the ground is (is it a concrete foundation?) Id level it with screed first and then useing longer concrete screws into the existing concrete to secure the box.

The first thing I would be doing either myself or engage a plumber is to reconfigure the down pipe to meet the wall. If you change it from a round to rectangular profile in the same colour as your guttering, it will provide a very acceptable profiled finish. @Dave-1 make a good suggestion to take the down pipe to the corner, however that would require the guttering to be reconfigured to instead fall to the middle, but to the far left but very doable.

This leaves the exposed damaged bricks where the old block wall was and the ground work. As an alternative to both @EricL and @Dave-1 great ideas, you could consider a simple and cost effective solution once the down pipe is redirected. This could be fixing a metal trellis in front and grow a nice flowering creeper/rose from a new garden bed below.
