Hi Team,
I've recently purchased an Ikea vanity. For a few reasons I'll not be using Ikea again for anything bathroom related, but alas here we are.
I'm having trouble mating the Ikea plumbing to the standard waste pipe we have.
The previous vanity worked fine with a bunnings p-trap bag that included all the piping, but I'm having trouble connecting because I always end up with female to female or male to male.
As you can see from the reference image, the pipe sticking up is the exit pipe to the ground waste, which is 40mm.
On the left is the Ikea piping which after the u-turn ends up being able to mate with 40mm pipe components. It's worth mentioning that before the u-turn, the piping is a random 36mm so this 'converter' u-turn that ikea provides you is required.
I just need to connect the two with a trap.

As you can see if I try to use part of the bunnings p-trap kit, I end up with this seemingly impossible connection.
