Is sample pot paint the same as a larger tin?

I have a left over Dulux Weatherguard Exterior sample pot paint (Blue Ocean colour) that I want to use to paint some outdoor timber steps.

My question is: Are the sample pots made with the exact same prodcuts as what is in the tin for a DULUX Weatherguard i.e. will the sample pot paint have the same durability / UV & Weatherprotection, as the end product?

That is an excellent question, usually the interior sample pot is the same, but only comes in a low sheen finish. Please allow us to double check with our paint specialist regarding the exterior paint sample pot. As soon as we have more information, we'll get back to you.

Hi @kayne1,

I have confirmed with Dulux that the paint samples are all interior low-sheen paint as they are only intended to be used as an example of the colour created with the external product.

If you were looking to paint something externally, unfortunately, you would need to purchase a new pot of paint.
