How to temporarily affix brackets to hold curtain rod on brick in a rental?

I'm a renter and would like to put up some curtains over the window in the picture. As a renter, I can't drill holes in the walls. The room dimensions are too wide for an extra long tension rod (3.6m), plus it's not that nice to look at an extra long rod hanging across a wall in the way of a door. 

I've tried Gorilla clear mounting tape but that didn't hold on to the brick (I might need more hooks than the two I used). Another option is to use clear epoxy (Araldite) but I fear it'll also not hold on the brick side. I cleaned the brackets with strong isopropyl alcohol but didn't clean the bricks as I wasn't sure it'd make much difference. Maybe it would... Thanks for sharing your question about temporarily fixing brackets to your brick wall. I suggest looking at the Jack Black Hanging Basket Lock in Brick Hook. This hook operates by using a heavy weight to provide a compression force on the brick. If your curtain is heavy enough it should provide enough force to keep the hooks in place. I suggest testing the curtain rods at the store to see which one fits. Once you find a suitable rod it will just be a matter of installing it and putting the curtains on.
