How to build privacy screens for a granny flat?

2 screens to be designed and constructed. There are issues in

complementing existing Hamptons design.
Keeping it a reasonable budget.
Adding a gate in the rear screen
Making it structurally secure
The screens will sit 100 off the slab which will be tiled.

You can technically have a 100mm gap underneath the fence, however the posts will need to be anchored to the concrete base. The other option is to have the privacy screen installed on the lawn itself. The privacy screen will be built like a standard fence with posts, rails and palings. The only difference is that the fence will need some added pieces to give it that Hampton look. For example, a top cover for the posts and timber trims for the top and bottom of the palings. Depending on how fancy you want the fence screen to be you can add timber slats at the top for an added cover that you can still see through.

I like @EricL 's suggestion about having the posts off the concrete as it will give you more space, would that be acceptable or do you want it with the pillars of the patio?

If you want to stay within the pillars then the side screen would need three posts, (one post either side and one in the middle)

The rear screen would need 5 posts, one against the pillar, one 2/5ths across the rear, two for the gate and one more against the pillar.

The reason I have posts against the pillar is it is a stepped design so you would struggle to fix a post to top and bottom without some kind of stepwork.

The two spans are too far apart for a rail to support properly.

With the posts you could easily install a hampton style screen with a top and bottom rail. The system above can be moved off the concrete slab and installed on the lawn with concrete footings (Id use a flat stirrup style base to anchor the post to the concrete either way.
