Hi. I have a French door handle but can't seem to take collar off to tighten it. Is there a wee trick with this one please?

Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
The hole you can see in your first image is the key to your problem.
If you stick a thin object in this hole, there should be a release mechanism that when pressed will allow you to remove the handle and then the cover plate.
