Hi,
I am looking for a suitable paint for a timber carport (floor). It will need to with-hold tyre treads, and is exposed (no roof).
Looking at concrete garage floor paints, these don't seem to be suitable for timber. Are these suitable?
Hi @Nicole7,
Thank you for your question and welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.
The specific timber material that was used will likely determine the best product for you to use.
Is it possible to get some photos of the timber flooring you are looking to paint? Do you know the specific timber product that was used?
This will help our members see what you are dealing with and make recommendations that are specific to your circumstances. Let me know if you need a hand uploading images. I'm happy to help if required.
I can't say I'm aware of a paint that is designed for this specific purpose as it is a fairly uncommon circumstance.
There are decking paints like Cabot's Timbercolour which can be used to paint timber surfaces like decks, but I don't know how well they would hold up to the tread on tyres.
Once you've provided the extra details, I've asked for above I can contact our suppliers for their recommendations.
Let me know what you think.
