How to connect dishwasher inlet?

Hi folks,

I recently got a Dishwasher and have issues connecting my inlet to the tap. Attached is the picture. The connecting tap is angled and is not straight. Attached pic for reference. Also the inlet end of the dishwasher is big that I am unable to screw it to the tap. The tap currently has a dummy. I have removed the dummy but not able to fit the inlet as its not straight and also not enough gap between the tap end and the wall. 

So I was thinking if I can connect a flexi hose to the tap and connect the other end of the hose to the dishwasher inlet. 

Can you please suggest which flexi connector I can use for this purpose? I dummy cap on the tap measures 25mm.

Thank you for your question about connecting your dishwasher.

There are flexi hoses with angled ends like this EnduraSeal Bent Elbow Water Connector, but they only come in 90° bends which aren't great with the proximity of the hole your hose needs to run through.

Realistically, the best solution to the problem is to rotate the tap so it is straight. As stopcocks are connected by rotating them onto a threaded connector on your water supply line, it should be possible to rotate it. As the tap needs to rotate clockwise, it will be tightening the tap onto the thread on your supply line so it might take some force, but it is likely possible. 

As this is a tap that is connected to a pressurised supply line, it is likely worth contacting a plumber for their assistance as if the tap breaks, you will have to turn off the water supply at your water metre to stop water coming from the pipe.

To connect the hose to the tap, you will need to use a threaded reducing bush that can screw into the tap and the inlet hose can screw onto. You'll have to measure the diameter of the thread on the outside of the tap and the inside of the hose to select a size that works. I suspect this Brasshards 25 x 20mm Brass Threaded Hex Reducing Bush will work but you'll need to confirm the diameters match. 

Wrap the thread on the tap and the reducing bush in thread tape before screwing it in place. This will help create a strong leakproof seal.
