How to fix a gap between my rendered fence and the fence cap?

Hi all,

Just joined today & happy to get some expert advice.

My fence cap was rotten and I have replaced it. The fence has been clad with a cement sheet and rendered red (tyrolean). The gap between the  fence cladding and the capping is around 3 cms. I need to fill the gap with a paintable medium (some adhesive) so that the gap is invisible. I can then paint it with the colour of the cement cladding. I have attached pictures. Please advise as to how I can go about it.

I recommend using Sikaflex 11FC, a high-quality, paintable adhesive and sealant. It’s perfect for filling gaps, bonding, and sealing in construction projects like yours. 

Start by cleaning the gap area thoroughly, removing any debris, dust, or loose material from both the fence and the cap. This ensures that the Sikaflex adheres properly. Given that the gap is around 3 cm, you may need to apply the Sikaflex in two layers. Apply the first layer and allow it to cure before applying the second layer if needed to fill the gap completely. Once cured, Sikaflex 11FC can be painted, so you can match the colour of your cement cladding for a seamless finish. This approach will help you fill the gap neatly and create a clean, professional look.

If you want to get fancy, before the last coat of Sikaflex sets, you can use an old toothbrush to stipple its surface to replicate the rendered texture.
