How to patch rendered brick wall?

My wall is largely damaged from attempting to strip paint. Most of the wall has scrape marks/deeper marks and some of the render has been sanded away. What’s the best product to patch this wall assuming almost the entire wall needs a layer applied to it?

It looks like your wall has quite a bit of damage from the paint stripping process. Before you move forward with repairs, it's important to determine the type of material on the wall. Do you think it's a cement render over the bricks, or could it possibly be a softer plaster?

If the wall has a cement render, a good option for patching would be Dunlop 5kg Ardit Rapidset Repair Mortar. This product is perfect for repairing large areas on cement-rendered surfaces. You can apply it to the damaged spots or even use it to coat the entire wall. The mortar will bond well with the cement render and provide a smooth, even finish once it cures.

If the wall is plaster instead of cement, you'll want to use Hardwall plaster. It is designed for patching and smoothing out plaster surfaces, and it can be used to create a fresh layer over the existing plaster.

Additionally, if the wall has been painted, you'll need to remove the painted layer first. Sanding off the paint is essential to ensure that the new cement-based products can properly adhere to the porous surface beneath. Once the painted layer is gone, you’ll be able to apply the new patching material more effectively.
