How to ensure adhesive vinyl floor tiles are easily removable?

Hello, I would like to lay vinyl floor tiles over Jarrah floor boards.The house was built post-war, with limited availability of materials, so the boards are a very short length and through the years they’ve had a number of different stains, both deliberate and not, so each room is a different shade (not my doing). Also due to the short length boards the floor squeaks badly. 
My concern is being able to remove the tiles in future. To bring the boards back to a reasonable condition they would need to be sanded even now so a small amount of sticky would possibly be ok.

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

It's a shame that you need to cover them, but you are not causing irreversible damage by sticking vinyl floor tiles to them.

One of the great things about hardwood timbers like Jarrah is that their grain structure is so tight that stains rarely permeate deeply into them so sanding will usually restore them to their former beauty.

Adhesives used on vinyl floor tiles are the same in that they will not permeate deeply into the timber so the adhesive can be removed fairly easily with scraping and sanding.

I wouldn't be too concerned. Once you can restore the floorboards, the adhesive won't be hard to remove.
