How to repair returning cracks in plaster?

This crack is near the apex of an archway of brick & plaster. It has been repaired before, but there's a degree of movement, so it keeps coming back.

I have read that one option maybe to use jointing tape, as this may take up some of the movement.

Just wondering if there are any other suggestions or options?
