Hello @Robisgreat
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about building your TV unit.
I've done a preliminary drawing of your cabinet and have based the material on 16mm MDF for ease of sourcing and assembly. Can you please double check the height of the last space at the top. The internal space of the bottom is 430mm, the middle is 350mm and the space left is 56mm is this correct? If not, please let me know and I will modify the image.
If you have any other questions we can help with, please let us know.
Eric
Hello EricL, 56mm should be around 65mm and want like to add middle for wood.
extra with 4 door for bottom with handle. cheers
Thank you for that extra information regarding your cabinet. As soon as I finish the drawing, I'll post it here.
waiting for the cabinet photo.
also, i like to know the price of those build. cheers
Hi @Robisgreat,
Unfortunately, I don't have access to @EricL's drawings and he is off for the weekend and will not be back online until early next week.
I have sent him a reminder to follow up with this as soon as he is back online.
I apologise for the delay.
Jacob
No worries, am happy to wait until monday hopefully cheers!
My apologies for the late reply. I've placed the rest of your diagram below, please have a look and tell me what you think. In regards to the price of the materials, it all depends on what panel you are using. For example, if you were to use Specrite 1800 x 405 x 18mm Timber Multi Use Pine Panel it would be much more stable than MDF.
But the advantage of the MDF is that you can build the entire cabinet with just one panel of 2400x1200. I propose visiting the store so that you can see the type of material you'll want to use. Both of these timber materials must be primed before being painted.
Please note that these measurements are based on the ones that you have provided, please double check them before committing to cut your timber.
for the bottom one i like to add a leg. i think top one have to be 35cm as well.i will check measure for ps5 hopefully can fit in there.yes will go to bunnings to see. does Timber Multi Use Pine Panel worth it.
Cheers.
Just checking in to see how you are going with your project. This is @EricL's last day before a well-earned break so please let us know if you need anything.
Did you need a recommendation on what material to use? Apologies, but I wasn't sure whether your last line above was a question.
Thanks,
Jason
I hope this help! hopefully it is good. do i have to buy all the wood to build it or not?
yes will go to bunnings to see. does Timber Multi Use Pine Panel worth it.
The Multi-Use Pine Panel could be used if that's what you would like @Robisgreat. Whether it is worth it is up to you. Mdf has all the suitable qualities you need and if you are going to paint it anyway, I can't see much reason to go for solid timber at a higher price tag.
Could you please provide a little more context around "Do I have to buy all the wood to build it or not"? I am not sure if I understand your question correctly.
Mitchell
Talking about for the project like buying part or bunnings build project.May i see the project?
I'm Happy with Multi-Use Pine Panel. cheers
Unfortunately, Bunnings doesn't build custom cabinets such as these from scratch. You would need to purchase the materials and construct them yourself or employ the services of a professional to do so for you.
Alright, no problem. i am in 5014 area. so do i have to go local bunning? How much do you think of the materials.
If you would like to purchase this material, you would need to attend the store or place an online order for delivery. With all your fixings and panels, it would be in the realms of $150-200.
Price seen cheap. i will do that soon as possible. cheers.
So can i buy anywhere in bunnings?
Any Bunnings store will be carrying MDF. I propose going to the Trade Desk or go outside into the timber yard and speak to a team member outside in the yard. They'll be able to answer all your questions in regards to the MDF panel you wish to use.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.
Cheers, how much do you think this will cost?
and can you show me your drawing of cabinet final build.
I've placed the sketch of your cabinet below. The measurements are for reference only, please double check the sizes before you cut the panel. Each CUSTOMwood 2400 x 1200 x 16mm Raw Standard E0 MDF is currently priced at $42 dollars. I suggest using Zenith 8G x 40mm Countersunk Rib Head Chipboard Screws - 28 Pack to screw the panels together. Please make sure to drill pilot holes to prevent splitting the wood.
